I wasn't expecting the update to 0.4.5 to fix the problem (though it did try to address various possible tablet input bugs), but I'm glad it solved things for you!!

Thanks very much, this seems very useful! I'm travelling to conferences over the next 3 weeks so I won't have time to test it seriously in the immediate future... but this has been a much-requested feature so I'm glad you've done it!
One note about the patch file: it seems to include lots of unnecessary content (e.g. Makefiles and other things that were not part of the standard tar.gz but...

As pointed out by Dirk Gerrits, Xournal now compiles fine under Win32 (after a couple of small patches, included now in CVS). So... we now have a windows binary of release 0.4.5 available for download. Please consider this **experimental** - there's been very little testing, and quality/stability might not be up to your standards.

Excellent ideas. Toolbar customization in the config file: a bit awkward both from the user perspective and from a coding point of view (patiently undoing what Glade-2 patiently does for us...), but I'm still tempted to consider it seriously.

Thanks very much! This will be very useful, I'll definitely include it in the next release. One quick question about the translations of the config file explanations: do you think it's ok to translate "true/false" to "vero/falso" even though the option will still have to be set to "true" or "false", not "vero" or "falso"? In the french translation I kept "true/false" untranslated for that reason.

You can't expect to convert PDF->XOJ (except making an empty XOJ file that refers to the PDF file as its background; but xournal creates it automatically if you try to open the PDF). (PDFs can contain very complicated objects, XOJs only contain backgrounds, polygonal strokes, and simple unformatted text; images to be added sometime.)
For the other direction, yes, this is on the to-do list...
