Unfortuneately release 2.0 had some fairly major flaws, primarily related to the new Generic format input. Hopefully remaining flaws are of a minor nature...
A description, albeit brief, of how to format the Generic data so that OpenSounding can read it, is now on the Home page http://opensounding.sourceforge.net.

The most notable improvement in this release is that OpenSounding now supports a form of Generic text data format.
This means you should be able to import data that is not stored in the SGF format without too much trouble.
A description of the necessary data format will follow shortly on the project web page at http://opensounding.sourceforge.net.

Noticed a highly annoying typo in the url in the About box, that is the main reason for this release.

Verified that data from both Envi and Geotech can be handled.
Complete header info for a sounding can now be displayed.

I have the same problem, and a similar log.
I think the problem is that while SunJVMLauncher::runProc
checks for min/max version, SunJVMLauncher::runExe does not,
and runExe is called by JavaMachineManager at the "- Trying
to use PATH" stage.

The first release (1.0) is now available.
Note that the Windows installer doesn't add a shortcut due to technical difficulties. You will have to add one to OpenSounding.exe manually if you want one.
