Does your project make use of OpenGL 2's capabilities or would it require a large rewrite? Also, OpenGL Long's Peak (next major version) will be out this summer and will take on DirectX10 from what I've been reading. I know nothing is out yet on it, but from my understanding...it should be easier to code for it than previous versions.

Transparency effects in the GUI might give the user interface more depth and dimension. Of course that's only if it is done right.

Seeing as how DirectSound is gone in Windows Vista, in order to maintain EAX in Doomsday, OpenAL seems like the light at the end of the tunnel. OpenAL works on multiple platforms too!

Options to select the level of anisotropy would be nice.

When OpenGLHQ and full double are on together, the screen flashes non-stop and full double has to be disabled so you can see what you're doing.
I'm using 0.66 rc1 build.

When enabling stencil shadows or even shadows by itself, the shadows of trees look awful when the trees are on hills. This is easily noticeable in the first level blackmarsh.

I think adding OpenAL might improve the sound much and since it is highly portable, can be used on multiple platforms. It will improve sound positioning and quality. Maybe we'll finally get rid of Quake's dated sound engine and let the sound really shine past it's 11khz quality.

Is it possible to the option to control anti-aliasing & anisotropic filtering within the application? I believe the maximum anisotropic filtering available now is 16 and anti-aliasing is probably 4X.

I think adding hiend3d's HQ filter to this project would greatly increase texture quality at higher resolutions. The HQ filter does an excellent job.
Samples here: http://www.hiend3d.com/hq4x.html.
