It may be an idea, perhaps it may check against the content of a text box in preferences so that anyone can add personal exclusions.

Shame on me ! I was sleepy at the moment... I didn't realize I was using Emerge Desktop (emergedesktop.org) and that obviously its desktop isn't the same of exploder. Thanks for the other correction, I'll download and build CVS.

  • Found a little bug in 1.7.4 build 442

Hi Deman2, it seems to me that the Auto Reconnect feature for Private Network does not work anymore for clas 10.0.0.0/8. It saves the correct value in .pr0 but at startup it doesn't read it so that in preferences it appears unflagged and it actually doesn't try to reconnect to class 10. peers. I also noticed that the little patch 2492263 (Fix: AutoBusy when Desktop is foremost) was not inc.

I'm trying out OneSwarm in this very days and, even if it's in java and have still some bugs, it's really promising. The real difference with WASTE is usability, OneSwarm is for sharing files, waste is really unbeatable for collaboration between IT techies.

Yes because in network status window you put the ip address of your friends and if you don't add :110 after the ip, waste uses its default port which is 1337. BUT it's correct because it's YOU that have to LISTEN on port 110 and is YOUR friend that has to put your_ip_addres:110 in her network status window.

Umh, it's not really clear to me what you did. Do the following: File Preferences Network Listen on port "110" Click Update Button if it says "Listening on port 110" everything is OK.

Well, since you will never be able to reach her... it doesn't matter ! :-) I think the best thing would be for her to set her 10.x.x.x address so that if she has another friend in her same LAN they will be able to connect each other enabling the "Auto reconnect for Reserved Networks" feature for the 10.0.0.0/8 network (this is an improvement of mine... modestly :-) ). In this case.

It's very likely your friend is NATted that means he can reach any other computer on the internet but nobody on the internet can reach him. To be sure of it he could try to ping www.google.com and to telnet some smtp server on port 25 or pop3 server on port 110 or web server on port 80 and 443. His network/firewall admin may have restricted the destination ports he can reach, so he really.

  • Followup: RE: Auto broadcast of public key

The point is that I'd like to use WASTE in a scenario where everyone connects just to people that really knows (they exchanged public keys) but can download files ALSO from other people not directly connected. I'd like for instance to connect only to my friends but allow my friends to use the same WASTE client (instance) to connect to their friends that I don't know. At the moment if a friend...
