The problem appears to be on the capture side. If the packets are captured with
airodump-ng 1.0, they're decoded flawlessly. And example packet captured with
airodump is in the file "good".

Update: the same problem also happens with packets captured with tcpdump 3.9.5 libpcap 0.9.5 from an RTL-8185L card (driver uses mac80211) on an old amd64 Gentoo system running Linux 2.6.29-rc2-00442-g152a649.
Out of 146815 captured beacons 584 (1/252.4) had the wrong channel. There were more anomalies I didn't look into since their origin is probably the same.

In case the problem is in the capture data, not the decoder:
The packet was captured by tcpdump 3.9.8 libpcap 0.9.8 on a WRT54GL v1.1 running Kamikaze 8.09 RC2.
Kernel is Linux 2.6.25.17. Kernel messages related to the driver:
