    Can you compile nia.ko as well? This one should work via "make" If it compiles ok, plug in the NIA, put on the headband and try modprobe nia.ko debug=255 - this should give lots of data in syslog (most likely /var/log/syslog - otherwise grep -r for nia-0 in /var/log. At most 15 seconds of data (especially the nia-0 lines with lots of hexadecimal codes) would be helpful at first, just...

    Have you installed libusb-dev? (e.g. under Debian / Ubuntu / Fedora: apt-get install libusb-dev. This should also install libusb with version at least 0.1-4 (_might_ work with earlier versions, the driver uses only relatively simple USB functionality)
