Ok, I managed to fix the problem by downloading the com.sun.xml.bind bundle from the Eclipse Orbit project:
http://download.eclipse.org/tools/orbit/downloads/
I dropped the com.sun.xml.bind_2.1.9.v200905260854.jar into the "dropins" folder of my Eclipse install, and the dependency was satisfied.
I'm not an Eclipse developer, but I'd imagine that this is a result of the bundle being...

I've been trying to install the Redmine connector into a fresh install of Eclipse 3.5 (build 20090621-0832) without success. I'm running Eclipse on Java 1.6 (build 1.6.0_14-b08) on Ubuntu 9.04.

+1 for async database interactions - when performing a long running query it would be nice to be able to continue to use Eclipse whilst waiting for the query to finish. At the moment I have to resort to using the MySQL command line client to do this in these cases.
