  • send emails via sendmail?

Hi. The webhost I am using to run Newspipe officially disallows sending via SMTP. In the past it has usually worked, but occasionally it breaks, and they don't take responsibility since it's not allowed. Fair enough. They would like all outgoing messages to be sent via sendmail. Is there a way of configuring Newspipe to do so? Any pointers would be greatly appreciated! Andy.

No problem. It's working well now. Thank you!

Nevermind. Looks like I had an <outline> section in my OPML file that didn't have any feeds in it yet. I'd put it there as a placeholder while I was testing. Removing that section (or adding feeds to it) eliminated the error.

  • Exception in thread Thread-1

Hi. When I run Newspipe I get an error message. It works, and I get my feed updates (as far as I can tell), but I also get the following output: ===== $ ./newspipe.py newspipe.py - version 1.1.9 revision 1.66, Copyright (C) 2003-2005 Ricardo M. Reyes <reyesric@ufasta.edu.ar> Exception in thread Thread-1: Traceback (most recent call last): File...

Thanks for the information. I'll pass it on to the debian bug report! (though it's probably already fixed in version 1.0.3 currently in Sid)

Looks like my submission was successful. It's Debian bug 306079 (http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=306079) if you're interested.

Update: The crash only seems to happen when using the Debian build (1.0.2) of Firefox. When I download and install it (version 1.0.3) from the mozilla.org home page it works fine. I also tried a recent nightly build and it worked fine. I'll try to figure out how to report it to the Debian Bug Tracking System. It looks like it's not a universal linux problem.

Side note: just before Firefox crashes the CPU is pinned at 100% usage for a couple seconds. It's definitely thinking about something. The only error message I get on the console is "Segmentation fault", so that's not much help.

I've tested a few now. Looks like a number of pages crash Firefox for me. Pages that do NOT crash: http://dean.edwards.name/ http://dean.edwards.name/weblog/2005/04/acid2-sp/ http://dean.edwards.name/links/ http://dean.edwards.name/contact/ http://dean.edwards.name/IE7/favelet.html Pages that do crash: http://dean.edwards.name/my/ http://dean.edwards.name/weblog/...

  • IE7 site crashes Firefox

When I attempt to visit the IE7 site (http://dean.edwards.name/IE7/) in Firefox on Linux it crashes the browser every time. It seems to almost finish loading the page before it does. I've submitted it as a bug to mozilla (bug 291667) but I thought you might want to know it was happening. I have no idea what's causing the problem. andy.
