g-v-m is able to start a user-defined process on connection of a Palm or Pocket PC device. So user able to start some sync apps (podcast directory synchronization for example).
The new RNDIS connections do not work properly with Gnome Volume Manager (g-v-m). g-v-m expects PDA devices will have "pda" capability in the info.capabilities list.
But the RNDIS network devices do not have such capabilities. So the volume manager does not detect device presence and unable to start specific processes as required.
