I've recently upgraded to this build in order to test out TimeMachine compatibility and noticed that no zeroconf announcements are comming out of my FreeNAS box.
There is nothing in the logs about mdnsresnponder that i can see so my only suspicion is that it never starts. I tried disabling/enable the zeroconf box and rebooting the machine but no no avail. There is no trace of mdnsresonder...

Hi Arne,
I was under the impression that your request meant that this would make TimeMachine work, which it won't. Yes, it iwll make the FreeNAS volume appear as a valid TimeMachine volume but what's the point ? I can manually create that file on the volume and achieve the same thing..
We still need a special version of FreeNAS with Netatalk 2.1 CVS to test out whether TimeMachine will...

Hi Volker, i can confirm that this will NOT work. The current version of Netatalk that you are using in FreeNAS does not support FPSyncFork() command needed by TimeMachine so even if you fool OS X into thinking that this is a valid TM backup destination, the backup operation will still fail.
As i mentioned in my previous TimeMachine implementation request, it is needed that you compile the HEAD...
