    Hmm... I'd like to consider that a bug in the original, not a feature. I assume that, if the devolpers wanted that to be a feature, they would have mentioned it in the manual somewhere, and also would have added a more obvious way to postpone the choice than the ESC key.

    *Re: Founding Fathers* - That's how it should be, though, isn't it? Being able to just shuffle the offered FF until the "correct" one appears would defeat the purpose of having a limited selection (instead of the whole set) in the first place. In fact, I think we should make sure that, if a player does *not* select any FF, either a random one gets chosen for him, or at least the same...

  • Opening video laggy / option to disable?

    From a current IRC discussion: The opening video seems to be very CPU consuming, and laggy even on the 1.5GHz system (Win XSP SP3, Java 6.0.13) of at least one player. Not sure we can do anything about that directly, but there should at least be an option to disable the opening video completely on future starts of the game.

    I'm afraid to say that, but 0.7.3 is somewhat outdated... there's the whole 0.8.x series, and 0.9.0 on the horizon. I believe the error you described has been fixed since, although updating won't be of any help for you because of savegame incompatibility.

  • Comment: Graphics - allow objects to overlay tile above

    This should already be possible, by just enlarging the tile graphic being used. If I recall correctly, tile graphics are simply drawn centered on the pixel they belong. So, if you increased image size from 128x64 to, say, 128x128, you should have some space to play with. Keep in mind, though, that tiles are drawn from top to bottom and left to right, so tiles drawn "later" will overlay those...

    What exactly is it supposed to do? List School buildings with trainers/students for each colony, or more? Please explain.
