Yes, on RH and FC has a problem about where the libraries should be installed on 64 bits systems. Install on /usr/lib instead /usr/lib64
But, yes, you need to copy to /usr/lib/64, that is the correct way.
The crash after should be another reason.
please run with debug
pidgin -d > output.log
After you attatch the output.log in this place (in the bugs seccion may be).

The theme I sure is free without license, we can assume is GPL like SIPE. The author sent me it and he said we can use for whatever we want. He wish the theme be part of SIPE project.
if was it created from scratch? I don't know. Only says was a hard work.
We can assume yes too.
I commited it letting intact the original author name (inside the theme and as author of the commit).

I could begin in the File Transfer support.
I have ready a initial support for not encrypted transfers.
This is only the begin. But I already can send and receive files.
I will commit may be tomorrow.
