Let's see: You asked for version, and I supplied it as requested in posting the bug. You asked for OS (which should have been part of the bug) but I then gave it too. You asked if I did some other type of print, but that is not what I'm trying to do. Nowhere did I read that a person cannot use the regular menu items to print a PDF. You should have said that the user must use a demo only. Worse yet, why only use PDF? That could have been a common type of image file format. Sorry, but I'm not very...

By the way, the program can't output to SVG correctly either. I shows a checkerboard background.

Sorry if I am unclear. Let's try again. If the program is running and the display appears but I do nothing, what happens?

Nothing works after installing with the image file. Everything appears very old and FreePBX does not appear to be installed. Please let us know if anyone is still active here.
I also noted that there is no instruction to log into the system with a browser.
At the page http://www.raspberry-asterisk.org/downloads/ we do not see correct instructions. The first thing a user needs to do is log in, and that information is not given. Next we need to upgrade the system and that information is not given either. A command is given of raspbx-upgrade, but that command does not exist. The correct information should be: Username = pi, password = raspberry Run sudo apt upgrade Run sudo raspi-config Configure as needed, including change password, screen resolution...

The problem turned out to be the pbx software. For some bizarre reason, they decided to block the local ports. They even failed to realize that the ports were not ones they needed to worry about. Bizarre and totally unnecessary. In light of this discovery, I would suggest that the install procedure for Webmin offer a place to add an iptables rule to allow a particular address or address range, particularly if it is on a LAN. The last thing we would want is for Webmin to be blocked after going to...
From one Debian 10 to another Debian 10 system on the LAN, Webmin>Networking>Linux Firewalll does not see the same information as the other system with sudo iptables -L. What am I missing here? Also, it does not save the rules when using Apply Configuration and Activate at Boot (yes). Even after running sudo service netfilter-persistent save to set thing up.
Am I supposed to go into the module configuration and set "Always start firewall from init script on Debian" to Yes?
Okay, I did further testing. Evidently, it is the pbx software, although I don't know why. If I start with a fresh install of the OS and then add Webmin, it works fine. If I then add the pbx software, it does not. If I start with the OS and the pbx software and then add Webmin, Webmin will still not come up. Something recently happened to stop that port from being available and Webmin cannot overcome it.
I thought about that, Ilia, but while it appeared so, It left a question in my mind. During the Webmin install, why wouldn't the process make sure it was open?
Thought it was my managed switch so I bypassed it, but didn't help.
I'm probably missing something, but my little server with the latest Webmin install is not available thru the LAN by typing the address in my browser in this format: 192.168.1.21:10000. I can preface it with http or https:// but I get the same results. Interestingly, I can log into another program with the same IP address alone. I cannot figure out what is wrong. Tried a fresh OS install and server software and Webmin, but didn't help. It worked before but not now. Does anyone have any ideas? Th...
Thank you for the reply and information. Looks like I have then found a bug. I will address that in the proper forum.
Sorry for forgetting the obvious. It is installed on Raspberry Pi OS Lite and accessed on Debian 10 (Buster) with Xfce 4.12 thru Firefox 78.8.0esr (64-bit).
Persistence in iptables does not function
hamburger menu>Networking>Linux Firewall>Activate at boot. When selecting Yes and then clicking the button, an action appears to be taken because of a progress bar being displayed at the top, but the setting still is selected No. When applying the configuration, rebooting the system looses all the settings made. What is wrong?
This is an excellent question, and very timely.
I guess that's all well and good, however it misses some very significant points. First, why use Clonezilla if one must use another program too? Second, does your recommendation copy only used sectors? I doubt it.
Well thanks for the response and explanation. I guess i was hoping for something more user-friendly. It just seems like a huge amount of work to get a less-than-ideal outcome. Thanks again.
How is a person supposed to restore a drive when the files are spread out over a number of directories?
Evidently, my bad. I believe I was viewing the wrong file; possibly looking at your web site. I will read thru and get back to you. Thanks very much.
Why is rain in mm instead of in when un-selecting Units(Metric)? Also, the "beast" does not explain that setting.
I don't see how to get the astrological information or where it displays. Also, there is no section entitled Create a New Reminder, nor is it available from the drop-down menu.

I want to clone my flash card in my USB holder to an ISO image file and am trying to use Clonezilla Live. Booting from it and then trying to follow the prompts was a little difficult because of the background colors of the options and the lack of clear directions. Muddling thru it got me a directory on my hard drive but no ISO. Worse the directory was permissioned to root only. (Not very handy.) How does a person do a simple, multi-partion clone file of a flash card drive and obtain an ISO file and...

Won't Install Properly
Thanks for your honesty. I just wish the promotion of the product was such that people were not mislead into thinking that this was an installable program for their desktop environment. What's doubly sad is that it could be, with a little quality programming effort. Ah well.... the search continues.
It can't possibly do that. It requires me to boot into another OS. That totally defeats my requirement.
Thank you for that. I did not understand what was going on. It seemed to have problems when running it and there was no attached configuration or program notification that something was missing. It would be nice if someone fixed that. Thanks again.
I want to clone a usb flash drive to another one from within my OS. I would assume I wish to create an ISO or IMG file containing only the used areas of the drive. Then I would want to restore that to another drive. Does Clonezilla do that in a simple manner or am I looking for something else?
It appears that the Clonezilla site mentions two versions, the server and the live. However, my Debian 10 system has a repository with an installable version which runs from the command line. Doesn't that make a third version. If so, where are the instructions for it?
YAGF Closes Unexpectedly
Did this problem occur only recently (possibly after some system changes), or did it always look like this?> I can't remember, but don't think so. Does the portable version of DocFetcher (the one in the zip file, downloadable from the DocFetcher website) have the same problem? I am on Debian so I used the portable version. Does your distro have the xdg-open command to open URLs via the command line? Yes. Got rid of hotkey problem; thanks. Now I have a system error attached here. Also attached is...
My screen shows the little manual text, but doesn't fit the window. Please see attachment. Also, the button to show the file in the browser does nothing. What should I do? Finally, I tried the change Ctrl+F8, bit it won't let me change it. How can I overwrite it? Thanks.
Forgot to mention: Debian 10 with Xfce 4.12
My second post where I pointed out that I had found it got lost with the silly moderation procedure.
Does anyone know where to find that program manual? I've been to the home page and to the wiki, but it simply is not listed anywhere I saw. The link to access the manual when an error comes up does nothing. Thanks.
I can assure you that I have no file of those types that any more than a few megabytes, so exactly how would a person give it enough RAM for those?
Okay, I get it. So what kind of file would likely be causing the problem? Could it be something that could be blocked from the scan? Could there be a size limit place upon the files needing to be scanned?
So then, if I understand your meaning, the issue is the size of files it must parse. So instead of reading the file a little at a time, it loads the whole file into RAM and then reads it? Again, I don't think that is a JAVA issue. Further, there should be safeguards set in the program. If a person has 16 GB of RAM and the program runs into a file that is 16 GB in size, then it should skip over that file and just list it at the end of the process so as to notify the user of the missed file(s).
No, but one can create a short-cut for it.
Yes, and how much easier it is to make sure the installation steps are there in their proper order so that automation can occur. Not supplying that only confuses the whole issue. But even better is an install that does not require an unnecessary or unprompted reboot.
Maybe so, but that could be detrimental to the system as a whole. Further, it requries user intervention which should be automated. But going back to the point I made is that there is a fundamental problem with the writing of the index during scan. That is actually the root of the problem, and IMHO I doubt very much if that is language-specific.
Looks like there is a problem with the program. It should run the indexing routine in the background with the available memory, but it keeps popping up with messages that it has run out of memory. That's too bad. It may require a rework on the programming. I do not know, of course, but it may be that the program was written to create a large file in memory, rather than writing bits to a file in storage as it goes, and that would indeed be a big problem.
I don't know why it is so hard to get good instructions. However, I have now figured out what a person needs to do to run this progam. If someone wants to use the snap version of DocFetcher, they should use their package manager to install snapd in their Linux distro. Reboot the computer. Next, they need to install the program by running sudo snap install docfetcher and just ignore that the web page does not work correctly and allow the version you wish. Finally, run snap run docfetcher. If a person...
Are you saying that the variable needed to be set, the snapd program installed and then docfetcher installed? In that order?
Xfce
Seemed to install correctly in Debian 10, but there is no menu item and nothing appears to make it start up.
When I switch from my task view to entering a resource, it switches quickly as would be expected. But when I try to switch back, I have to select Gantt view and it takes a long time to regenerate the display. Why is that? Is there a way to speed it up?
Never mind. I was shocked to learn I could select the first cell in the name field and then paste my list. Worked like a charm! (I actually got the idea from a post somewhere else.) I see that the task section is like a spreadsheet. That makes it easy. Very cool!

Is there a way to import a task list? I have about 150 steps for a construction project and would like to import them rather than typing them in from scratch.
