5 Maven plugin - ID: 968968
Last Update: Comment added ( prometheusbound )

It would be nice if there could be a Maven plugin for
Jester that would generate Jester reports. This would
increase the user base of Jester, I believe.

I have finished a preliminary version of a Maven2 Plugin for Jester. Its
in groovy, small and nonchalant. Find it here:
http://grester.sourceforge.net
Thanks Ivan for your inspiration. Hope we can all work together on the
project and improve it for everyone's benefit.

I should have finished with version 0.1 of a Jester Plugin for Maven
(Grester) in the next few days. Look for it on SourceForge.

I'm in the process of writing a maven2 plugin for jester. Version 1 will
be very basic and *should* produce a basic report. I hope to upload this to
Sourceforge very soon.

+1 Now that Maven 2 is relatively stable with a good user
base, would it be possible to release a Jester plugin?

All our builds are Maven centric, and the nightly run
generates a great developer website, including reports of
many tools. Would greatly like Jester added...

+1 here. The advantage of Maven for us is that we don't need to learn
(for a
specific tool) about classpaths, specific commands, etc.
maven jester
is about all we would need to know, and we'd be using jester (as the
original
poster pointed out, increasing your base usage).

Example: Look at the Clover code coverage tool (I know, it satisfies a
different
need from Jester). They have a plugin listed directly in the Maven site,
and you
can be pretty sure that is increasing usage of their tool.

+1 here, some projects are maven-centric environments, and
be easier to get started with Jester with a Maven plugin.
