Why do I need IMAP when I'm using POP3 - ID: 947630

I have installed yanocc on my server and told it to use
pop3 but when you access the index.php you receive a
message saying "The IMAP module does not seem to be
installed on this PHP setup, please see YANOCC's
documentation." IMAP support is not conpiled on my
server because we use POP3. Why is it looking for IMAP
support???
