1 Dialogs don't remain on top of main window - ID: 866186
Last Update: Comment added ( fdietz )

Most dialogs and message boxes do not remain on top of the main application
window, ie they are not truly modal somehow. You cannot interact with the
main application window at all when a dialog box is open, even if it is
behind the main window. In windows, Alt-tabbing will get you back to the
hidden dialog window.

This is due to the fact that many dialogs are created with a null owner
window due to a lack of a reference to the parent window. I need a list of

dialogs for which that is the case in order to try to fix that, would you
mind sending some hints about which dialogs are affected?

I wanted to send an email to the developers, and so I went to about and
clicked on one of the emails, chose "Compose new email" from the menu. The
new email came up, hidding the About window, but I couldn't do anything
with the new email because the About dialog was still open, had locked
focus, but wasn't on top.
