5 mondo.conf functionality requests - ID: 825869
Last Update: Comment added ( lhanson )

I think that it would be quite useful, and functionally
more elegant/complete, to have the following features
available in mondo.conf:

1) An option to perform an action ONCE upon reaching
an alarm condition. If the condition is cleared, the
action would again become eligible to be run. Maybe
ABOVE-ONCE? Or perhaps ABOVE x.x ONCE "action"?

2) An action to be performed once an alarm condition
is cleared. This would be paired with a specific alarm
line. Specifically, I'm thinking about temperature
alarms here. For example, once a temperature drops
back down past a "high" (but not "critical") level, an
action could be taken to inform the user that the alarm
is no longer tripped.

If there is already a way to get this behavior, please
correct me ;)

Hmm, after thinking about this for a bit, and reading the
docs a bit more, I've realized that #2 above is possible
with multiple alarm handlers in a given section. i.e.,
ABOVE x for an alarm, and BELOW x would be the "alarm done"
action. So I retract my request for #2 ;)

I am, however, still interested in #1 and if I have time
I'll try to come up with a patch (always better than a list
of demands, right? ;)
