When the format attribute of xsl:number includes a
punctuation token but no formatting token (for example,
format="*") Saxon crashes with an array bound exception.
The correct output in this case appears to be (for
example) "*42*".
Applies to 7.6.5, 6.5.3, and all earlier releases.
Test case added: numb26/27.
Source code fixed in 7.x branch.
Limitation documented for 6.x.
