5 Proper working on remote X display - ID: 803575
Last Update: Comment added ( keescook )

I have decent modern PC as linux server. My X11 display
is older, running over NFS root. GOPchop won't show
video frames if I run it in my server, so I have to run
it on slow NFS-rooted computer. Worst thing is file
handling over NFS. It takes ages.

It would not matter if video output would be slow, even
still image would be better than not working at all
when no shared memory extensions are not available.

One option is to use --pipe mplayer, but it lags so
much behind I really don't know is it showing me GOP
I'm selected or something earlier clicked refreshs.

This works for me. Just make sure you select the "x11"
video driver when you start GOPchop.

I have been able to use GOPchop over a vnc session without
problems. The X is on a linux server and the vncviewer is
on a XP machine. I would assume that the same could work
for this situation.

Hm, reopening... not sure how to correctly test this (or to
fix it...)

Now finally got 1.1.3 running. Problem still exists, it's
unusable over remote X11.

Did the latest release solve your problems? I can't seem to
get it to work at home between two machines...
