EuroBudget, Free Java Accounting Tool

5 Saved file blank. - ID: 738499

I'm running a Win2k machine (service pack 1).
I'm using Java Web Start 1.2.0_2 (build b05).
and I was using the latest Eurobudget as of May 14, 2003.

After using Eurobudget successfully for a couple days,
I went to exit the program. I clicked on the save
button, and then before i could exit the program, the
auto-save feature came up. I hit yes to auto-save,
and then exitted the program.
Now I tried to open up Eurobudget again, and I get an
error "Load failure:<myfilename.ebp>". I click on OK,
and it says "Unable to Launch Eurobudget". If i
click on details, it says "Unexpected exception:
java.lang.NullPointerException".

If I look at the file it was supposed to save to, the
file is blank, 0 bytes size!

So i have two problems. 1) it somehow saved
incorrectly. saving a blank file. and 2) if you
lose the file Eurobudget tries to open automatically,
because the file is not there, there is no way to open
a different file, Eurobudget just crashes.

Unfortunately it looks like the data I have input is
completely lost, but I would like to try using
Eurobudget again, if you can fix this bug.

Thank you

oups. bad bug. Fix the 2), you should be able to test EB again.
But I don't know why u loose contents of your file.
Anyway it's good to save backup files, in different format (xml,
qif), to be sure to maximize the chance to not loose all your
data.
