7 Cannot load previously saved '.PNG' files. - ID: 708277
Last Update: Comment added ( jmmcg )

Sorry about this... Unfortunately this version has a nasty
bug that slipped through, it cannot load '.PNG's that it
previously saved. The work-around is to use '.IXI' format
and '.BMP' for the image instead. Ouch! The
saved 'PNG's can be loaded correctly, they are fine, it is
a bug in the '.PNG' image-data loading-code. This is
fixed in the CVS version. Once that is released, your
saved '.PNG's can beloaded.

Another technique is to load the suspect files into a newer
version of Aleph One (greater than build_4_08_07_03).

Occasionally I have the nasty touch of changing the file
format for the Aleph One data blocks which causes both PNG
& IXI format files to no longer reload. Sorry. THe work around
is that PNG formats have a textual description of most (if not
all) of the parameters saved in them too in a zTXt chunk in
the PNG format. Load the PNG file into a decent PNG file
viewer and extract the data from the chuck. I know that in
the past Jasc "PaintShopPro" could do this.

Fixed in the 'build_2_24-03-03' release.
