5 Newest beta of Giftbox fails to retain preferences - ID: 697150
Last Update: Comment added ( mrmacman )

I decided to use Giftbox. I dropped it into the Applications folder and
launched it. Nothing. So I checked out the preferences. I set some
values hit apply, then ok. I went back and changed a preference and all
the values were there. When I quit the application and launched it again
all the values were gone

- I've tried with the daemon always on and off. It doesn't matter
- I've tried just hitting ok in the preference dialog and hitting apply
then ok. It doesn't make a difference

I'm a bit confused. Maybe I'm missing something, but this looks like a
bug to me.

G4 Mirror Drive
- dual 867mhz
- 256megs of ram
- plenty of HD left over
- just did a permissions check so that's not it
- 10.2.4 installed with everything on the system up to date

Lets see when you go in preferences and put in the info when
you restart the app it doesn't stay.

I manually did it tho, it was annoying tho.

Okay this is QUITE major, I leave GiftBox online most of the time, but I
don't
want to KEEP saying '~/movies/' is my download area and 'etc...' is my
upload...

this needs to be fixed, you have done a great job, but we all need a real
fix!

The preferences pane indeed does not work in this version. The giFT daemon
will provide an option setting command, if it does the prefs will work as
well.. For now you can manually edit the options in ~/.giFT/gift.conf and
~/.giFT/OpenFT/OpenFT.conf . GiftBoX should be able to run without
changing the preferences though. Could you describe in more detail what's
happening ?
