I discovered today that the changes to Log::Agent
(specifically, to Formatting.pm in the subroutine
tag_format_args) causes the following message to be
printed repeatedly with v1.32 of Newsclipper:
Use of uninitialized value in sprintf
If you remove the error checking done in
tag_format_args the messages go away. Since I'm not
exactly sure how this gets called, and I'm not (to my
knowledge) using Log::Rotate for anything else, I just
skip these lines in tag_format_args.
I discovered the problem after updating to RH7.3 and
reinstalling the latest (as of 11/01/02) Perl modules
for Log::Agent (not sure how to find the version number
of that package, however).
Don't know if anyone cares or not, but I still use
NewsClipper for the backend (admin side) of my web site
so I need to keep NewsClipper working.
