gdkxft: anti-aliased fonts for gtk+-1.2

Tracker: Bugs

5 Strange text window behavior - ID: 525416
Last Update: Comment added ( unleet )

In a text box, after typing a line all above lines get
very strange. It seems like antialiasing gets too 'hard',
all grey pixels also get black. Try for example
sylpheed and use an antialiased font for mail typing.

I noticed the same thing, spent quite a while looking for a
way to disable kerning in Freetype and gdkxft...

Then I discovered that it is simply a side effect of setting
your font usinf pixels as the metric.

Workaround: always use "points" as your font metric
