5 Project web services: memory allocation error during PHP run - ID: 516472
Last Update: Comment added ( precision )

I keep getting errors like the one below when I
access pages on http://textads.sourceforge.net

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes
exhausted (tried to allocate 2 bytes)
in /home/groups/t/te/textads/htdocs/textads/functions.
php on line 608

I have this software running on several other
machines that I own (i.e. non SourceForge websites)
and receive no such errors. I have also checked with
the developer of the CMS software, PostNuke, and
there is no such known issue. The reason I suspect
it might be a server issue is that:

a) The line number that the error occurs on is
always different.

b) If I reload the page, the page loads without
error.

c) The error occurs in different files (i.e. not
always /home/groups/t/te/textads/htdocs/textads/functi
ons.php)

Thanks in advance for checking into this.

Bill

The upgrade to php 4.1.2 (or 4.2.0) is planned and coming.
I'm just in the process of getting all the modules that
people have requested compiled in and tested.

Hey, FYI, the problem is a bug in PHP v4.06. It has been
corrected in 4.10 and 4.11. Here's a pointer to the bug
report on the php.net website:
