Copter Commander

Tracker: Bugs

5 Mouse response is choppy - ID: 486769
Last Update: Settings changed ( svref )

In some situations mouse response lags annoyingly, and
lethally. On Ork (450mhz K6-3, TNT2) this was not
always the case, but it is now (well, maybe I changed
from GeForce to TNT2, but that shouldn't hurt).

One proposed way of fixing this, is to use GII (Generic
Input Interface, I think) instead of X events. IIRC
kernel 2.4+ might be needed to actually get winning
performance from GII.

To reproduce choppyness, use a computer as crappy, or
crappier than the one mentioned above. Fly right into
the balloon swarm at full speed, reversing direction at
the last moment. Your copter won't turn as fast as it
should, and you'll smack.

HEY!
I added a little red dot where the client thinks the mouse
is. Basically, it always thinks its in the place where it
really is. Its the server that isn't getting events from
the client, not the client that isn't getting events from X.
This is much easier to fix.
