5 pgsql analysis never finishes when there are inherited tbls - ID: 3523687
Last Update: Settings changed ( mlt_msk )

I suspect that support for inheritance is missing for PostgreSQL DB analysis. I'm running SchemaSpy 5.0.0 on Windows XP trying to analyse PostgreSQL 9.1.1 DB. If I exclude scheme that contains inherited tables, I get reasonable resuts.

SchemaSpy simply freezes after saying "Writing/Graphing summary.." .

Also I was affected by # 3065002 and had to rebuild SchemaSpy from SVN as
it didn't want to process 5 billion records table.

SchemaSpy does not freeze and works as expected. However inheritance is not
shown. Perhaps this is a limitation of JDBC metadata API. SchemaSpy though
"shows inheritance" when "Implied relationships" is checked. Quite sad
though there is no true support for inheritance. I wonder if this works for
Oracle and MS SQL as those are other only with table inheritance support.

I just realized (using -loglevel finer) that it is querying row count and
it just gets locked since I have a heavy query running. It is likely this
issue in invalid. I'll report back later.
