First of all, porthole is a great application, and it works very well. One
of the reasons I prefer it over
command-line-emerging is that I can nicely browse through the package list
whilst I am emerging,
and I can easily add something to the emerge cue.
But: When I emerge a package with some dependencies, I would like to have
the option to see which
one is currently being emerged. If you emerge on the command line, you can
see this in the
window-title of your terminal window.
There are different ways this could be done in porthole.
Option 1: The dependencies would be shown in the emerge-cue-window.
Ideally, the dependencies would be slightly indendent, or they would be
optionally shown in a tree-like structure (either you can see what you
asked to emerge, or you can see the details and porthole will show the
dependencies being emerge as well)
Option 2: The current dependency is being shown in some status-bar.
What do you think?
