gtkpod doesn't see iPod in Ubuntu Karmic - ID: 2893281

Ubuntu 9.04 does recognise the iPod and can manage it. It reports the iPod
to be iPod Nano model xA350. This is the small white iPod; the firmware is
1.3.1.
I can see the device in Rhytmbox, though and play the songs.
