Details:

I would like to see the ability to use a scanned jpeg of a map for certain
areas.
I almost thought geomap could do it but after RTFM I seen it doesn't.

Anyone got a fix for the 3 meg crash when saving yet?

Date: 2009-11-19 20:26 Sender: dofinch-geoff I have made a fork in V0.9.9 latest that allows to import a jpeg image of a map in Mercator Projection. The map can be aligned and calibrated using Viking itself. It has been tested only in Ubuntu Linux distributions V9.04 and V9.10. I am interested to see if this is of use to anyone else and if so whether it is found to be a good or bad implementation. I will send a tarball to anyone who wishes to receive the fork for experimental purposes and who gives me a guarantee that it will not be used to copy copyright material where such copying would not be lawful.
