I've been using your autosoftwareupdate program for years with much sucess.
Thanks for putting this useful app together!
Recently, we upgraded all of our clients from Tiger 10.4.11 to Leopard
10.5.8 (we are not early adopters :-) ).
Since then, autosoftwareupdate has stopped functioning. When I run
launchctl list
I do not see the script as being loaded (though I do on Tiger machines). If
I try to load manually via
launchctl load /Library/LaunchDaemons/autosoftwareupdate.plist
I get the error
Dubious permissions on file (skipping):
/Library/LaunchDaemons/autosoftwareupdate.plist
nothing found to load
Permissions on the .plist file are
-rw-rw-r-- 1 root wheel
which seems to match the permissions for that file on tiger clients
However, permissions on other .plist files that seem to behave properly
are
-rw-r--r-- 1 root wheel
Changing this via chmod is only producing weirdness that I don't understand
(which isn't surprising, since I've never quite grasped usage of chmod,
being as I am only a hack, self-taught admin).
Any thoughts on how I can get ASWUP working again on my Leopard clients?
Thanks for your time.
