As simple searches are useful and (supposingly) are used quite
frequently:
-> Build a hotkey to activate them.

An option could be (a similar strategy is used in Bibledit):
- F3 once: Simple search
- F3 twice: Advances search (F3 toggles).
This would allow to change some settings in the advanced search, which
influence also the simple search (see Help/ 6.2 Advanced Searches : ...
Changes to some of the settings (e.g. scope of search, searched modules,
etc.) in Advanced Search will affect the simple search via the side pane
but not vice versa. ...)
