7 SQLite DB Creation Problem... - ID: 2871906
Last Update: Comment added ( jimjulson )

For some reason after following the installation for 1.2.5-1 on CentOS 5.2
when launching the URL I am receiving the following error.

SQLite database '/var/lib/rackmonkey/rackmonkey.db' does not exist. Check
the 'dbconnect' path in rackmonkey.conf and that you have created a
RackMonkey database as per the install guide.

I can see in the /var/lib directory that there's a "rackmonkey" folder but
I can't change directory to it. I followed the install document to the
letter. Am I missing something simple here? I'm not much of a guru on
Linux at this point. I'm still learning. Any help would be very much
appreciated.

Well, I'm going to close this. I love your product and it has amazing
potential for massive growth but the documentation out there (or lack
thereof) will be a HUGE deterrent for most IT guys who aren't Linux guru's.
I had to scrap the whole thing with SQLite because I just could not get
the DB to become writeable.

If you would just add more information to some of the documentation such
as how to run certain commands based on where files are located....and give
more information for the DB side the doc's would be really solid. I had to
jump all over just to find what commands to use to import the SQL files
into the rackmonkey database.

But again, awesome product and great functionality! Keep up the good
work.
