I found out the following:

- Browsing a folder results in double entries for each single picture in
the folder.

- The menu <Search - Add to database> works correctly. Only the "slash
entries" are created in the database. But when I view such a picture, the
"backslash duplicate" is created.

So there are (at least) two ways to create backslash entries in the
database: Browsing a folder, and viewing a picture.

Thank you for this great product. Keep on the good work! (I will donate if
I decide to use Mapivi. So far I am only testing it.)

Strange, I've never seen this behavior. How did you add the pictures to the
database? Just by browsing the folder or with the menu "add to database" or
both ways?
Mapivi normalizes the backslashes to slashes in the function
addToSearchDB(), so this should not happen.
Could you please open menu Search-Edit database and remove all the wrong
entries (the paths containing a backslash)?
And then add all or just some folders again to the database with menu:
Search-add to database?
Are there still double entries now?
