5 Folder copying problem - ID: 2498121 - ID: 2853405
Last Update: Tracker Item Submitted ( aen007 )

Greetings.

I have been "testing" SuperCopier 2.2ßeta.
I could give some feedback/comments, but
for now I will only say that this previously
submitted/"solved" problem is NOT solved.
Sometimes SC2.2ß correctly copies desktop.ini files
between computers but just as often it does NOT.

I would also suggest that SC develop a contextmenu feature
and that the SC interface/menu allow adding files/folders while
"rolled-up".

Thank you in any case.
Regards,

Bonjour. It would take me way too long to write
this in French. I have recently encountered a wide
spread "bug" in apps that offer alternatives to
the standard Windows copying. Supercopier does not
(on/between/amongst my 3 XP laptops) copy folders
"correctly". Only Total Commander & FastCopy
seem to copy folders (between computers) correctly
without using the Windows Explorer copy command.
Supercopier copies the desktop.ini files, but
they lose their hidden/system status upon arriving.
I have tried using DOS to then remove/restore
the hidden/system status to the desktop.ini files
but WinXP does not recognize these desktop.ini files
copied by Supercopier as proper desktop.ini files.
So, for example, copying a whole folder structure
results in WinXP not recognizing the folder icons
even though the desktop.ini files were copied.
Does anyone have any experience/knowledge with/of
this topic?
Any replies/insights appreciated.
Thank you.
Regards.
