5 Net Worth reports don't include all accounts - ID: 2853193
Last Update: Comment added ( sf-robot )

If I bring up a saved favorite report (for example a net worth account)
which has a stock account row checked, the software does not search for any
newly added stocks since the report was last saved when it displays again
leading to incorrect column totals due to missing rows.

It should not be necessary to uncheck the stock row in the accounts
configure tab, apply it, and recheck the stock row to get all newly
acquired stocks displayed.

On the old versions where each stock was individually listed in the
configuration area, it was clear that stocks were missing as they weren't
checked when you looked at the accounts tab. Now, since the overall stock
type row is checked, it appears that all stocks are present when they
really aren't.

If all else fails, it would be very useful to have a checkbox somewhere
that automatically adds new accounts to saved favorite reports instead of
having to remember to do this manually. If you really did want just a few
accounts in your report, you could leave it unchecked, but I really think
most people would want that to be the default.

This may have been reported before, but a search of the reports bugs didn't
show any obvious candidates. Still present in 1.0.1.

Dear KMyMoney user,

thank you for opening a tracker item on our bug tracker and giving us
valuable feedback about a problem with the application.

The problem reported has been fixed. Unfortunately, we were not able to
fix it in the current stable release branch. However, the fix is available
in the current development revision. It is currently available only via CVS
access (which implies that you have to build the application yourself) and
will be contained in the next development release and the next major stable
release.

Thank you for your support.

No, it's not obvious. The option is called "Show Equity accounts"
Anyway, I will look through the options to fix this bug.

I'm fine with with not being in expert mode if that would fix it, but I
looked through the settings dialog, the edit account for investments
dialog, and the report dialog and don't seen any expert or normal checkbox
that I can set - could you point me in the right direction? I'm sure once
you tell me where I'll hit my head and say how did I miss it, but I really
don't see it at this point. Thanks.

This has to do with the stocks of an investment not showing up when in
normal mode. They should be there in expert mode, if I remember correctly.
This widget is loaded by kfindtransactiondlg. So, the problem can either be
solved there, or in the report classes.
From the reports point of view, it can be assumed that if the application
is not in expert mode, whenever a user selected an investment, it is meant
to retrieve all subaccounts.
