Sure, it's silly not to have those library calls, but their absence
shouldn't cause a compile failure. Here's a patch versus 0.1.2 to fix the
configure.in to check for its presence, and changes to the app to check the
config.h values and only include the code if the library call is present.
Also includes a handy warning in the usage screen that setting the
environment won't work on those hosts. Ideally, the usage of "-E" would be
fatal on these platforms, but that was more than I wanted to do with this
get-it-to-work patch.
