Smart Common Input Method platform

Tracker: Bugs

4 "ctrl->shift->release shift->release ctrl" doesn't work - ID: 2838721
Last Update: Comment added ( whistler_wmz )

when pressing Ctrl+Shift to switch IM in this way:
Press Ctrl -> Press Shift -> Release Ctrl -> Release Shift
the IM will not be switched (however this works in Windows). This means a
Windows user who is used to strike "ctrl+shift" together quickly will
likely to experience "lag"s.

It would be better if such a sequence can be supported. Also, it seems I
can't customize the key sequence in this way in the config window.

well, currently SCIM's key sequence of switching IMEs only works in this
way:
Press Ctrl -> Press Shift -> Release Shift -> Release Ctrl

and pressing in this way will not work:
Press Ctrl -> Press Shift -> Release Ctrl -> Release Shift

however, some Windows users tends to "strike" Ctrl and Shift keys together
to switch IMEs, which doesn't always work in SCIM if she happens to
released Ctrl first.

so I would suggest that make the 2nd method work as well :)

I'm not sure what you suggest to be done (if anything). Can you please
clarify?

never mind, setting to Shift+Control+Control_L combined with
Shift+Control+Shift_L worked.
I'll keep this open though, as I think it remains reasonable to support
such key sequences by default (and I think it's a user-experience issue
rather than a "Windows vs. Linux" debate ;D)
