the desktop file doesn't install properly in fedora 11 gnome.

you will find attached a patch to fix it.

Date: 2009-08-10 10:04 Sender: franjva I can change "Categories" (yours are better) and add "Version" and "X-Desktop-File-Install-Version", but if "Icon=vboxgtk" and "Exec=vboxgtk" fail for you, then that's a Fedora issue, sorry. Both should work as they are (the included executable is named vboxgtk, not VBoxGtk, and the path and extension in "Icon" should not be necessary in a sane distribution).
