5 national characters in fullsearch - ID: 2825913
Last Update: Comment added ( zefo17 )

it is currently impossible to type national characters in the fullsearch query unless language set in phone settings contains such characters. so if your phone language is set to english and you're visiting finland it might be impossible for you to type finnish characters without switching phone language (which depends on phone firmware). this could not be an issue for all phone but certainly is for Nokia E51. therefore i suggest either:
- a possibility of using ? wildcard
- use a translation table similar to a normal mode search (a will also search for á, ä, â, à etc)
- implement a selector that would allow users to choose special characters from all character sets

ok, maybe instead of wildcards the second suggestion (translation table)
could be used

This is probably not easily possible, as we are simply using the java
string compare functions in the fulltext search. I don't think they support
regular expressions or wild cards
