5 [critical need for this software] PHP and HTML fragments - ID: 2815907
Last Update: Comment added ( fabiwan )

Hi, I like your program.
But there is something I have run into that hurts me and my customers from
using it. This is not uncommon, some pages we use php includes, basically
they are text files of chunks of html code that is common between forms.
Your software will noyt allow me to open the files used. They are html code
but saved as a text file. YOur software wont allow us to open them, saying
its not an html file. It seems that we should be able to open anything and
definatly be able to open a text file. I am working with customers that
ediit their own sites and the editablility needs to be from one place.
Really need to be able to edit a simple text file. I was alarmed to find
out I cannot. The file typically named like this: common.inc

Agreed, KompoZer sucks with PHP files — at least, out of the box.
Some time ago I designed an extension as a workaround to this problem:
http://fabiwan.kenobi.free.fr/HandCoder/

I’m revamping this extension at the moment: stable features are being
included in KompoZer 0.8, the rest will remain available as a separate
extension. I’m working on KompoZer 0.8 with this problem in mind...
