7 Loadtest hangs with "Waiting for X samples" message - ID: 2815288
Last Update: Comment added ( christiandaehn )

We are running several (automatic) loadtests and often get stuck because of
this bug.

While exporting the loadtest statistics, soapui hangs and the log shows
"waiting for X samples" entries. in this case we have to kill the process
thus loosing all

Hi Ole,

I can't send you the groovy code before but maybe you can reproduce it
based on my description:

we have XML messages in the filesystem containing valid testdata. we use a
groov script as datasource to read the XML and, depending on the root
element, select the right testcase (which only contains the soap envelope),
injects the XML payload (through a property) and fires up the testcase.
after this step the XML file is renamed.

if you cannot reproduce the behaviour, I can send you the project next
week.

regards.

/Christian

Hi Christian,

thanks for reporting.. this should be reproducible somehow.. can you give
some more instructions which might enable me to do that?

regards!

Hi Ole,

sorry for the bad news, but the version I tested (nightly build
2009-07-06) first looked good for us. We didn't got the hanging-problem for
several tries. But then I discovered that a different project had the
problem, that only one request per thread was sent and then the thread
"hung". I tried it with different loadtest configurations but the problem
remains: only one request per thread was send.
We use a groovy script as datasource. It decides for each thread which
teststep to execute. Has there been a change to the groovy used in SoapUI
since 2.5.1?

Regards,

Christian

Hi Ole,

thanks for the backport. I will rest our nerves ;)

I'd like to give you more informations about the 3.0-beta test but I have
none. I simply fired up our loadtest and after starting the loadtestsuite
(this was the last message in soapui.log), nothing happens. I supposed an
issue with groovy because we have groovy setup scripts as well as groovy
testrunner scripts. For me it seemed as if the setup script wasn't called,
but I couldn't say it for sure (because I got no error message).

regards.

/Christian

Hi!

I'll backport the fix for this to 2.5.x for the nightly build. Can you
give some details on the problems you had with the upgrade?

regards!

We are using SoapUI Pro 2.5.1
I tested with 3.0-beta-2 but I didn't no succeed (suppose because of some
groovy scripts we use)
