7 xls2x forces .xlsm extension even if another one provided - ID: 2814646

Details:

If xls file has macros then xls2x always set file extension to .xlsm even
if it should use other one like .xlsx

For example, running "xls2x.exe 109591_cached.xls -o 109591_cached.xlsx"
generates 109591_cached.xlsm insted of 109591_cached.xlsx

Date: 2009-07-01 07:44 Sender: diamakz Hello Mr. Begtin, all the converts have this behavior because the Microsoft Office Applications will not open macro files that are named .xlsx or docx instead of .xlsm and .docm! I agree that this behavior is not very good if you want to use the tool in batch scenarios. We will rethink this behavior. One idea is to introduce a command line option that forces the given output name. Another idea would be a different return value of the process if the file was renamed.

I agree that this behavior is not very good if you want to use the tool in
batch scenarios. We will rethink this behavior.

One idea is to introduce a command line option that forces the given
output name. Another idea would be a different return value of the process
if the file was renamed.
