5 spam_buttons: mark read/unread returns to root folder - ID: 2812272
Last Update: Settings changed ( pdontthink )

Just upgraded my squirrelmail installation from 1.4.17 to 1.4.19, and
consequently the spam_buttons plugin to 2.3 (since 2.2 didn't work properly
with the new SM version). But now seeing the following bug in the plugin:

When I'm not marking spam/ham, and am just pressing the button to mark a
message read or unread, after squirrelmail refreshes spam_buttons is
bringing me back to the root folder (Inbox). Very annoying!

Steps to reproduce:

* start reading messages in a sub-folder (e.g., INBOX.Testing) by clicking
on the "Testing" folder in the left SM pane
* "Current Folder: Testing" is displayed at the top of the right pane
* select the first message in the Testing mailbox
* press the "Unread" button
* "Current Folder: INBOX" is displayed at the top of the right pane

i.e., although the message does get marked unread,
squirrelmail/spam_buttons should not return me to INBOX. It should remain
in the Testing mailbox.

My configuration is as follows:

- Squirrelmail 1.4.19 using Dovecot IMAP 1.1.16 (but with courier-like
mailbox structure - i.e., all boxes are children of INBOX)
- the following SM plugins are installed:
1. filters
2. vkeyboard
3. mini
4. spam_buttons
5. compatibility
6. quicksave
7. timeout_user

Any idea as to cause/workaround/fix?

1) Sorry - didn't know plugin bugs don't go at the SF site. Just seemed
like the logical place for it.

2) No attitude was intended; not sure why you inferred it. I think you
misunderstood the sentiment behind my comment, and assumed me to be just a
whiny user. I'm actually both a heavy user - and contributor - to a whole
bunch of open source projects. I love squirrelmail - and your spam_buttons
plugin - and use them both all the time, and was just lamenting that the
incorrect behavior caused by this bug was really annoying, since every time
I click on "read" or "unread" it forces me to go scroll through my (large!)
tree of mail folders and re-click on the folder I was just reading. Was
just expressing minor frustration. Don't read more into it than that!

In any case, I tested out the new 2.3.1 RC code that you sent me, and it
does appear to fix the problem. Thanks much for the quick fix!!!

Thanks for the report. However:

1) Third-party plugin bug reporting does not belong in the SquirrelMail
tracker, which is only for SquirrelMail (core). Try the author directly
and/or the squirrelmail-plugins mailing list
2) You wrote "Very annoying!".... lose the attitude, because you are not
paying for what you are getting and we do this in our spare time. Have
more respect.

I, as the plugin author, have a release candidate that fixes this issue.
If you want to try it and report back (here, since this tracker is already
submitted), email me directly
