Recently, I was attempting to use the Atari800 emulator on my HTPC but ran
into some limitations with controller configuration. In short, I really
need the ability to customize the buttons on my controller on a
game-by-game basis so that I don’t need a keyboard hooked up full time.
I’m using Maximus Arcade as my front end, which permits a different
command line per game, so if I could save custom button configurations to
the config file, I’d be all set. I also thought of a few other
controller enhancements that would be nice.
To address these needs, I’ve released a set of patches to the Win32
version of the emulator. These are made on top of the source that was
distributed with version 2.1 of the emulator and should require no
additional libraries. Full details on this patch are included in the
readme.txt file.
