I am using PDF Download 2.2.0.2, Firefox 3.0.10, and Mac OS 10.4.11.
The program worked almost perfectly (sometimes failed to give a popup
choice for opening) until the most recent upgrade a few days ago. FF
installed it automatically and I have not touched preferences.
Now, when I click on a PDF link to open it, the popup opens on the first
window in my browser and then loads into the first tab of the first window,
even though it's not the same window I'm working in and I'm already using
that tab for something else. If I open another PDF file, it opens into the
same tab so I can not have more than one PDF open at the same time. I get
this whether I do a plain click or a meta-click (apple symbol down while
clicking, which is set to open a new tab for the link).
In addition, the PDF view messed up the screen. The PDF file opens
unevenly over the entire monitor screen, covering my browser menus.
Scrolling is difficult. And the screen draw issues permeate to other
programs like Mail or Finder.
I have tried this with PDFs from completely different websites and always
get the same results. This never happened before the upgrade.
Today I tried to open a PDF file while I was using the first (top level in
menu) window and it simply opened it in a new tab of that window. Almost
correct...only there was no popup menu and this time I actually wanted it
to open in Adobe (but couldn't). The screen redraw issues were present.
I have both restarted FF and rebooted my computer since the update and the
problems remain.
Thanks!
