5 suggest offering x264 option if ffmpeg has it - ID: 2768987
Last Update: Comment added ( ddennedy )

I have compiled ffmpeg with x264 support and it would be nice if kino could
export to MPEG-4 AVC (x264) via ffmpeg. However, I don't know if ffmpeg
supports encoding at all, this is just an idea because avidemux insists
here to enlarge my video frame size which I don't like at all---so to have
kino export to H.264 would come in handy. Thanks anyway for that nice
program!

This already exists. If you do not see it, it is because you do not have
AAC enabled in your ffmpeg build. Even though some other containers support
H.264 with different audio codecs, the only Kino option at this time for
H.264 is MP4, where AAC is the norm. If you want something different,
please submit a patch on the patch tracker as I am no longer actively
maintaining Kino.
