5 Skim always opens docs too big for screen - ID: 2754807

I have set the pref to open 'fit', but Skim always opens with the window
close to the height of the screen, and the document enlarged well beyond
the window size. I have a 30" display, so this is overwhelming.

FWIW, I just customized the toolbar to include the scale factor, and it
appears that Skim always opens a new doc with the scale factor set to 394%.

"Fit" is a setting for the window size, it does not affect the PDF view
setting. The scale factor is determined by another setting, which you
apparently have set to 349%. To change this, either revert back to the
default PDF view settings using the "Normal" button in the General prefs,
or use the PDF > "Use current view settings as defaults" menu item to set
another default scale factor. Read the online Help for details.
