5 Set System Proxy values or run script - ID: 2714520
Last Update: Tracker Item Submitted ( csavery )

It would be very useful if starting / stopping a proxy could also update
the gconf system proxy values used by many apps.
This could be done using gconftool in a script triggered by start / stop of
proxy
Even better since gstm has the values it could update them directly. It
would need a check box option to enable that function.
And then a few calls to gconftool to set the /system/proxy and
/system/http_proxy values.
This saves the extra steps of manually changing proxy settings every time.
I would be willing to work on such program changes if allowed. Seems like
no other program changes are in progress.
