UD driver will never be signed, because the digital signature is completely
incompatible with General Public License general terms.

Imagine the following situation. I have compiled 3.0.0 version of the
program and it becomes the WHQL sertified. Under the terms of GPL you can
modify my driver sources and recompile it again. After that you must obtain
the new certificate for newly compiled binaries. Though GPL said "you can
recompile it for free", MS has another opinion - "recompile it for free,
but pay me 600 dollars for a special sertificate, because without them you
will not be able to execute compiled binaries".

Ultra Defragmenter is Free Software and Open Source Software. Freedom is
one of the ground conceptions of our program. Therefore WHQL sertificates
are not for us.

As an alternative for driver signing I wrote detailed instructions "How to
run UltraDefrag on Windows Vista":

not a perfect solution for dumb category of users (like heros from famous

than nothing.

Windows Vista 64 Ultimate, AMD Opteron 64...
Your UltraDefrag will not run with unsigned drivers... Even now...
Microsoft has built into Vista Ultimate and 64 bit software a check for
signed drivers.
Also for the record anything, everything I read about unsigned drivers in
our age calls them irresponsible.

I have the same issue. I'm running vista 64 with an AMD Phenom.

I tried to fix by running installer as admin. It installed correctly. But
when starting up the program it then shows message:
Can't load ultradfg driver : c000428!

I also wanted to try the portable package, but don't understand how it
works.
